Standard impound | Police of the City of Montréal

 

Procedure to recover your vehicule:


1. Be sure to have your drivers licence, your license plate number and your folder number.

2. Contact the district police station who has towed your vehicle, so that a police officer signs the authorization to be delivered and we send it to be able to give you your vehicle.

3. Give the autorisation sheet to the pound's guard with your driver's license. Note that if your driver license doesn't allow you to drive, you'll not be able to get access to your car.(if you do not have autorisation sheet refer to point 2)

4. Pay the towing and guard fees. (Those fees must be paid by the car owner.)

5. You will need to wait a certain amount of time during the time the guard get you car of the pound.
(The time fluctuates with the number of clients, the temperature and the traffic hours. But do take note that we won't ask you to take a rendez-vous as asked by the law.)
