Standard impound | Sûreté du Québec

Procedure to recover your vehicule:

1. Be sure to have your drivers licence, your license plate number and your folder number.

2. Contact the Sûreté du Québec office at 514-341-4411 during business hours. (Only if your folder number begin with 170, if not contact 310-4141)

3. After the officer has approved that you can recover your car from seizure, present yourself at the Surete du Quebec officer. The Officer will give you a "To give Autorisation" that you will need to give to the pound's guard. (IMPORTANT : Do not present yourself at the pound directly. You won't be able to access your car.)

4. Give the autorisation sheet to the pound's guard with your driver's license. Note that if your driver license doesn't allow you to drive, you'll not be able to get access to your car.

5. Pay the towing and guard fees. (Those fees must be paid by the car owner.)

6. You will need to wait a certain amount of time during the time the guard get you car of the pound.
(The time fluctuates with the number of clients, the temperature and the traffic hours. But do take note that we won't ask you to take a rendez-vous as asked by the law.)
